All very sensible, Alex. I dream that one day we will have well-educated public servants and representatives again who might be prepared to listen to such sensibility and engage in rational discussion. Keep up the good work.

Alex, this is brilliant. Thank you for spending the time to think it through and for clarifying the importance of myth and how the word is so casually used incorrectly. I imagine many will push back against this but whatever others say, I appreciate your thoughtfulness and willingness to stand in a place of truth.

A well written analysis, thanks Alex.

Each bit of 'push back' helps.

Good read Alex. I agree with lots you say, especially around there being no neutrality. I believe courage is critical in these cultural & ideological wars. I was ashamed to be a Samoan-Kiwi with the Parker stuff. But maybe Albert Park was a tipping point where the true nature of the intolerant tolerant was exposed more to everyday Kiwis. Faafetai.

Part of the answer is to vote Act. National seems to think it okay if the trans lobby pushes hard enough then women have compete against men. Does National not know the difference between right and wrong?

Hi Chuck,

Like many issues, it’s not simple. National’s view is that this is actually a matter for the respective sports bodies to deal with. That will be different depending on the sport. We support inclusion but not at the expense of fairness or safety. I note that both swimming and athletics had developed policies that restrict transgender women in competition.
