Thank you, Alex, for a thoughtful and sensible piece.

Social justice seekers of the day fought long and hard to gain freedom of speech for us all (In the 1970s, people still faced prosecution for stating their genuinely held beliefs about the church). In an effort to curb frustrated trolls, let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

I agree. Except National continue to defend religious privilege in the form of Bible in schools and parliamentary prayer.

I still have questions about the narrative around vaccines and mandates. Any fool can see that the mandates were based on the "safe and effective" narrative. That has turned out to be false, so where is the accountability ? I think every 2nd Kiwi is waiting for the Commander-in-Chief to step up and own that mistake. We are waiting ! And elections are coming !

It hasn't turned out to be false.

Do you mean the truth of "Safe and Effective?" I thought the coroner already said 2 people have died from Covid vaccine, and the majority of vaccinated people seem to have caught Covid. How is that safe and effective ? You must have low expectations.

Yes. people dying from any vaccine does not mean that it isn't safe and effective. And vaccines don't necessarily prevent infection but they do significantly lower the chance of death and negative effects. This guy is excellent at explaining a complicated topic: https://www.youtube.com/c/DebunktheFunkwithDrWilson

Yes I have heard people say that people dying from the vaccine just shows that it is working ! Not my kind of medicine.
